Mobtown isn’t just a place—it’s a pulse, a partnership, and a dance floor that connects people through joy, rhythm, and radical welcome. Founded in 2011 in a deconsecrated church, Mobtown began as a swing dance venue and has grown into a beloved Baltimore institution now located in Station North, offering Lindy Hop classes, legendary social dances, and a daytime café that feeds the body and soul.
At the Maryland Folk Festival, Mobtown’s instructors—led by Charlie Wieprecht and friends—will guide dancers of all ages and experience levels through the high-spirited, expressive world of Lindy Hop. Whether you’re brand new or already swingin’, expect to laugh, learn, and move with a community that takes dance seriously—but never itself too seriously. No partner or prior experience needed—just a willingness to jump in.
