Founded in 1979, the Dover English Country Dancers preserve and share the elegant, communal tradition of English country dance—a lively and patterned social dance style dating back to 16th-century England. With a mission to create inclusive, joyful experiences for all ages and abilities, the group welcomes everyone to participate, whether for fun, culture, community, or wellness. Join them at the Maryland Folk Festival for a graceful and spirited journey through centuries-old dances that still bring people together today.

With monthly gatherings, special events, and performances across Delaware and Maryland—from Dover Days to the Chestertown Tea Party—the group creates spaces where anyone can learn, connect, and move to beautiful music in good company. At the Maryland Folk Festival, join them for a delightful introduction to a timeless dance tradition where no partner or experience is needed—just your curiosity and your feet!
