Celebrating Local Talent at the MD Folk Fest

Get ready for an unforgettable musical weekend as talented local artists take center stage at the 2025 Maryland Folk Festival, thanks to the continued support of Salisbury University (SU) and the Charles R. and Martha N. Fulton School of Liberal Arts. For the third consecutive year, SU and the Fulton School will sponsor the Salisbury University Locals Stage in downtown Salisbury, showcasing the vibrant musical spirit of the Eastern Shore and beyond.

Here’s a look at the dynamic lineup for the Salisbury University Locals Stage:

Bella Masone (Eastern Shore, DE) – singer/songwriter
Bella Masone is a 17-year-old singer-songwriter from Delaware whose soulful blend of pop, R&B, and acoustic influences reflects a deep passion for music and storytelling.

daybloom (Salisbury, MD) – heavy pop/rock
daybloom is a pop-rock and heavy pop band from Salisbury that invites fans to experience their high-energy performance firsthand!

Housing Co. (Salisbury, MD) – indie pop/rock
Housing Co. is a Maryland-based indie rock/pop band known for their catchy hooks, heartfelt lyrics, and loyal fanbase—now gearing up to drop their highly anticipated second album, Homecoming, in 2025.

SPH+2 (Eastern Shore, MD) – jazz
SPH+2 is saxophonist Stephen Philip Harvey’s chordless trio, delivering bold original compositions through dynamic, harmony-free improvisation that highlights the intimate interplay of pure, unfiltered jazz.

Sympaticocious (Eastern Shore, MD, New York, NY, and Oakland, CA) – blues/rock/country
Sympaticocious blends rock, folk, reggae, and more into powerful, harmony-rich songs rooted in justice, joy, and the shared human experience.

Todd Smith and Friends (Salisbury, MD) – blues
Todd Smith and Friends (aka the Blues Brokers) deliver powerful blues and rock-n-roll classics, led by veteran performer Todd Smith, who has shared the stage with the likes of Little Feat, John Hiatt, and Yes.

Uncle Kunkel’s One Gram Band (Baltimore, MD) – funk/rock
Formed by three friends at Salisbury University, Uncle Kunkel’s One Gram Band is a funk/rock group delivering wild improvisation for their loyal fanbase known as “The Nieces & Nephews.”

Vox Concordia (Salisbury, MD) – choral
Founded in 2022 under the direction of Veronica Tomanek, Vox Concordia is a dynamic chamber choir of diverse professionals united by a passion for singing and a mission to keep the arts alive through music spanning all styles and eras.
