Angela Smithhisler is the owner and shepherd at Marshall Creek Farm in Newark, Maryland, where she tends to a vibrant menagerie of alpacas and heritage breeds. With a passion for sustainable farming and community engagement, Smithhisler has cultivated a thriving hub for local artists, schools, and county agencies to collaborate and explore the wonders of natural fibers and animal husbandry. Before trading in her teacher’s hat for a shepherd’s crook, Smithhisler spent a fulfilling career as a special education teacher, dedicating herself to empowering students of all abilities. Today, she brings the same warmth and dedication to her work at Marshall Creek Farm, where she weaves together tradition, innovation and community spirit.
