Colleen Tiefenthal has been a fiber artist creating hooked rugs since 2012 and has been creating art since she could hold a crayon. She received her bachelors degree from the Columbus College of Art & Design in Illustrationa and Advertising. In addition to fiber art she is also a painter and frequently creates art pieces in a mixed media style and loves to repurpose and upcycle materials, which fuels her creativity and is good for our planet.
Her fiber art has been published in ATHA magazine and Magpie Times magazine as well as in several fiber art books. She has served on the board for The Buckeye Rug Hooking Guild and is currently on the board for TIGHR (The International Guild of Handhooking Rugmakers). She teaches classes in rug hooking and enjoys sharing her creativity with others. She exhibits her work at several juried shows each year in Ohio and Maryland.
A native of Ohio, she now lives in Maryland in an area surrounded by nature on the Chesapeake Bay. She loves the sea and sunshine. Many of her designs feature nature and water.
