The Maryland Folk Festival is dedicated to creating unique experiences of discovery and learning, cultivating cultural and ethnic diversity, and pursuing all opportunities to inspire and enlighten through music, dance, food, crafts, and the traditional arts.
We are currently seeking community-minded people to join us in planning the Maryland Folk Festival in the following committees:
As part of the Artisan Marketplace Committee, you will help with outreach to artists and communities ensuring a wide variety of artisans are featured in the Marketplace. You will also then be part of the review process and help select the artisans who will be chosen to participate at the Maryland Folk Festival. As a committee member you will convene with the Artisan Marketplace Committee once a month. The first meeting being scheduled in mid January. (Committee size: up to 12 people)
As part of the Family Area Committee, you will help in curating interactive and engaging activities for our younger Festival attendees and their families; many of whom will experience music, dance and art they have never been exposed to before. As a committee member you will convene with the Family Area Committee once a month. The first meeting being scheduled in early February. (Committee size: up to 12 people)
As part of the Fundraising Committee, you will lend your guidance and expertise to the Festival in it's funding needs through sponsor and donor communications and events; enabling over thousands of people of all ages to enjoy a FREE multi-day celebration of music, dance and culture. As a committee member you will convene with the Fundraising Committee twice a month to plan and implement donor and sponsor outreach. The first meeting being scheduled in early December 2022. (Committee size: up to 12 people)
The Marketing Committee, you will aid the Festival by developing strategies to promote this spectacular event across multiple media platforms. As a committee member you will convene with the Marketing Committee once a month. The first meeting being scheduled in early December. (Committee size: up to 12 people)
As part of the Performer Programming Committee, you will work with the Festival to make performer suggestions, ensure a wide variety of communities are represented, and help bring some of America's most talented and renowned musicians and artists to Salisbury, MD. As a committee member you will convene with the Performers Committee once a month. The first meeting being scheduled in early December. (Committee size: up to 15 people)

The Maryland Folk Festival depends on the assistance of volunteers. As part of the Volunteers Committee, you will help build and organize an active base of about 500 volunteers though community outreach and recruitment. As a committee member you will convene with the Volunteers Committee once a month. The first meeting being scheduled in early February. (Committee size: up to 12 people)
