Greek Life at UMES is vibrant, energetic and ever present. The university houses 9 Black Fraternities and Sororities. They are Omega Psi Phi, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Sigma Gamma Rho, Zeta Phi Theta, Alpha Phi Alpha, Phi Beta Sigma, Iota Phi Theta, and Kappa Alpha Psi. Several of these organizations have been active for over 100 years. These groups, known collectively as the Pan-Hellenic Council emphasize public service and civil rights.
